2 8 2 / B a s e l w o r l d S e l e c t i o n s t o n e s a n d P e a r l s For generations, the finest gemstones have been cut at Wild & Petsch GmbH. Tourmalines, beryl and tanzanite sparkle in radiant colours. “Quality is paramount to us,” says Alexander Wild, one of the two Managing Directors. “Both with regard to the materials that we buy and with the subsequent finish of the stones.” Internationally active jewellers, gold- smiths and jewellery designers appreciate this credo. In the company’s cutting facilities in Germany and Thailand, the rough stones are processed and refined. Modern design, traditional craftsmanship and innovative technologies thus master- fully transform the treasures of nature into stone ensembles and unique pieces. The family-run company Wild & Petsch of Kirschweiler has represented service and quality of the highest standard since 1901. “We are also happy to fulfil the individual requests of our customers,” says Alexander Wild. The specialisation in coloured gemstones such as tourmaline, tanzanite, aquamarine and other forms of beryl has enabled the company to build up a portfolio of the very highest quality in this field over the course of the years. “Our first-class contacts to the countries of origin that we have established over time enable us to offer our customers very special stones,” says Alexander Wild. And it is precisely this co-operation with different people throughout the world that fascinates him about his profession. At Baselworld Alexander Wild and Thomas Petsch are displaying the full breadth of their fascinating coloured gemstones. One particular focal point this year will be upon Paraiba tourmalines. Here, the company is presenting impressive stones in a range of different sizes and cuts.
