Our collection features almost every shape possible including a few cutting patterns we’ve developed ourselves.” Cutting gems to perfection is one of Nomads’ well-known qualities. “Our master cutter first studies each piece of rough to determine the correct orientation of the gem for optimal colour and to reduce any unwanted clarity characteristics. Depending on the stone, that can take just a few minutes to sometimes days.” Baselworld is always an exciting time for Nomad’s as they really get to showcase their best gemstones. “We have several new important sapphires and rubies, as well as a great collection of large and rare garnets,” says Kukharuk. “We will also be showcasing a number of new layouts of vivid blue aquamarines, Imperial topazes, spinels and no-heat sapphires. In addition, our team will be busy sourcing and cutting new material up until the week before Basel. We hope to bring the best of what’s out there.”
