Selection Stones and Pearls

1 2 4 / B a s e l w o r l d S e l e c t i o n s t o n e s a n d P e a r l s The Idar-Oberstein-based company Henn offers a wide range of high-quality, perfectly-cut gemstones: individual stones, pairs or complete sets, from stones such as Paraiba tourmalines, spinels, rubies and peridots. In addition, the company also provides a varied demonstration of how gemstones can be transformed into works of art: fascinating engravings can be admired here, such as two aquamarine owls accented with gold, produced by Hans-Jürgen Henn, who runs the company together with his son Axel Henn. Demonstrating great attention to detail, he has rendered the birds incredibly lifelike – despite the hardness of the material the plumage appears gentle and soft, the eyes lively and wise. Another of his creations is a bowl made from polished, natural ruby, in a soft, highly-harmonious form. His son Ingo Henn takes a very different approach to transforming the gemstones into art: in his “Henn of London” jewellery collection he utilises luxurious coloured gemstones, perfectly combined with gold and enamel in the colour of the stone. The cut of the stones is also enhanced in the jewellery, with the consequence that gemstone and jewellery appear to flow into one another. “We are in a wonderful position here,” says Ingo Henn, “We have lots of different ideas about how to interpret the beauty of the gemstones – and because our family also has access to so many stones in such high quality we are also able to realise those ideas.” Headquarters Henn GmbH, Mainzer Str. 60 a+b, 55743 Idar-Oberstein, Germany Brands Henn of London Established For over a Century SpecialIties Fine Gemstones, Jewellery AND Art Objects head Hans-Jürgen Henn, Axel Henn Contact, Tel: +49 6781 46 061, FAX: +49 6781 41 950 Wh e r e g e m s t o n e s b e c o m e w o r k s o f a r t Henn GmbH · 3.1 / E27 Henn Gallery, the main showroom in Idar-Oberstein, Germany 1 2
