BWDN: 2016 has just started. Are you already able to forecast how trends will progress? Marco Bicego: We’ve started the year well and have re-estab- lished a growth trend in the U.S. market as well as in Italy. This goes hand in hand with the task of consolidating our presence in key markets in Europe like the U.K., Germa- ny and the Benelux countries. As for the Far East, we’re present in China and Hong Kong. This year, we’re turning our attention specifically to Japan, where we’re seeing an and communication and marketing activities in store. Several stores are planned for Tokyo and Nagoya. What actions are you plan- ning to support these devel- opment activities? We’ve planned some very intense marketing. We’re working on the new cam- paign, with the presentation of a new image, and we’re starting a large-scale project to boost our digital commu- nication. This will ensure that we keep close tabs on all new channels of commu- nication. These are all actions that will target the involve- ment of the sales network as well as opti- mise our brand presence in all interna- tional markets. And what are you previewing this year at Baselworld? We have an exclusive preview of our Masai collection. This was developed around a variation of our iconic spiral technique, revisited with new thicknesses and widths. There are two versions, both in white and in yellow gold, one with parallel spirals of variable length, the other with spirals chas- ing one another in an interplay of layers, gleaming with a cushion of diamond pavé trim that hugs the contours. We then have key additions to two of our most famous and popular collec- tions, Jaipur and Lunaria. Jaipur has a great new flexibility concept, with the introduction of bracelets and necklaces made with rigid – but expanding – gold tubes mounted with one or two gems in a slim, lightweight setting. This gives a very versatile fit, as well as some options for colour matching. Typical of Marco Bicego style. Lunaria – notable for its “petals” of hand-engraved gold – is revisited in a Diamond Lunaria, 18k yellow gold earrings.
